Waste Recycling Site

Where your waste goes

The risks of coronavirus remain high. To keep everyone safe, please stay cautious. Get the latest information about coronavirus.

The Suez energy-from-waste (EfW) plant (near the Household Waste Recycling Site) at Haverton Hill processes waste for four Tees Valley councils (Middlesbrough, Stockton, Redcar and Cleveland, and Hartlepool).

This means that most of the waste which can't be recycled doesn't go to landfill and is used to generate electricity instead.
