Extra Life is an initiative which supports the promotion of health and wellbeing within an organisation. This helps to improve work environments and boost the health and wellbeing of employees.
Extra Life provides one set of guidance and standards, and it works in any organisation (public, private, or voluntary) by targeting people within familiar surroundings.
Evidence tells us that health and wellbeing is highly influenced by, and dependent upon, the environment people live, work and socialise in. Organisations where people go to work, study or visit as part of their daily lives makes an ideal place to deliver and promote Extra Life.
Extra Life works by identifying specific health needs within a setting. When you sign up, you'll get an Extra Life toolkit to help you implement Extra Life and identify the health needs of your staff.
In most instances, there should be no cost to an organisation. Extra Life uses the organisation's existing resource and assets, including its people, facilities, and communication networks.
Teesside University, Middlesbrough College, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and Middlesbrough Council have led the way in becoming Extra Life Partners. Four of Teesside's largest organisations, they are committed, at the most senior level, to delivering health and wellbeing as part of their core business, and creating a supportive environment to improve health and wellbeing.
Sign up to Extra Life today and become an Extra Life Partner. Pledge to use the Extra Life brand as a tool to promote health and wellbeing within your organisation. By doing so you make a commitment to improving your work environment to boost the health and wellbeing of your people.
