Worried about a child

Information for professionals and volunteers

This page is for professionals working with or caring for children and young people in an employed or voluntary capacity. This includes people whose role brings them into contact with children infrequently or on an ad hoc basis such as members of the emergency services. It also includes a wide variety of people in a caring capacity such as foster carers, childminders and youth workers.

This section is also about sharing information in order to help you and assist all professionals in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Safeguarding children and young people procedures

Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility and the Tees (Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton on Tees) Local Safeguarding Boards (LSCBs) bring together people who work with children and their families to ensure that the safety and welfare of children is at the heart of their work. LSCBs lead the work to safeguard children across the region, and their aim is to make sure that those who work with children and their families do it well and keep children safe.
