We're looking for Age-Friendly Ambassadors to help raise awareness and spread the age-friendly message to others.
About the role
As an Age-Friendly Ambassador, you'll:
- raise awareness and promote age-friendly initiatives in your workplace, community, or to the general public
- make sure that older people's voices are heard, by encouraging them to take part in consultations, campaigns, and any other opportunities to give feedback
- pass information and questions to the Age-Friendly Middlesbrough team
- be an 'age-positive champion' by suggesting changes to services which are inaccessible or exclude older people
- encourage organisations, businesses, and community groups to pledge their support for Age-Friendly Middlesbrough
About you
You'll be willing to connect with others, and passionate about making Middlesbrough better for people of all ages.
Having Age-Friendly Ambassadors is also a great way for a business or organisation to show their commitment to making Middlesbrough an age-friendly town.
The role is flexible, so you can decide how much time you commit and what kind of activities you get involved in. For example, you could contribute on a regular basis by promoting and supporting age-friendly initiatives, or you could link your ambassador role with the work you already do.
Support and benefits
As an Age-Friendly Ambassador, you'll get:
- an age-friendly resource pack
- to take part in online and face-to-face training
- to share ideas and make recommendations on issues affecting older people
- to meet other ambassadors
- ongoing support from the Age-Friendly Middlesbrough team
- regular updates from the council and other organisations
