Register Office - changes due to coronavirus restrictions

Middlesbrough Register Office continue to offer face to face birth registrations, and notice of marriage/civil partnership by appointment only. Death registrations continue to be via phone, by appointment only.

Marriages and civil partnership ceremonies will start again from 29 March 2021, with a maximum of 4 guests. All other coronavirus restrictions (for example, face coverings and social distancing) are still in place.

Group citizenship ceremonies are currently suspended. Private citizenship ceremonies are available if requested. Please contact us for more information.

You can still apply for a certificate using the online application service.

You should wear a face covering if you're attending an appointment at Middlesbrough Register Office.

Cemeteries and crematorium (Bereavement Services) - changes due to coronavirus restrictions

The number of people who can attend a burial or cremation service is 30. Anyone attending a service in the chapels at Teesside Crematorium must wear a face covering.
