Register Office - changes due to the national lockdown
Middlesbrough Register Office continue to offer face to face birth registrations, and notice of marriage/civil partnership by appointment only. Death registrations continue to be via phone, by appointment only.
Private virtual citizenship ceremonies are available if requested. Please contact our office for further information.
Unfortunately, ceremonies are currently suspended, unless the circumstances are exceptional, for example a Registrar General Licence. This will be reviewed when the government
announces plans to relax the current lockdown.
You can still apply for a certificate using the online application service.
You should wear a face covering if you're attending an appointment at Middlesbrough Register Office.
Cemeteries and crematorium (Bereavement Services) update
The number of people who can attend a burial or cremation service is 30. Anyone attending a service in the chapels at Teesside Crematorium must wear a face covering.
