Town Hall ceremony rooms

Did you know that you can get married in Middlesbrough's beautiful Town Hall?

Council Chamber

One of the finest features of the Chamber is the seating accommodation, usually reserved for Councillors, which is made of dark oak. The general public are normally seated on divan seats around the room.

Above the Chair's chair and Alderman benches is a battle torn flag, which was presented by the 9th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment. It hangs in a place of honour to remember the courage of the Middlesbrough volunteers who fought during the battle of the First World War. The flag cannot be restored and must be left to slowly deteriorate, as requested by the Yorkshire Regiment.

You could marry in this room amidst the splendour of such a historic location. Please ask for details.

Council suite

The council suite was completely refurbished in 2001, the first time in more than 40 years. Decorated throughout with modern but elegant furniture, it combines a working office with a corporate hospitality function on behalf of the council and the people of Middlesbrough.

The council suite is normally used to hold meetings with local residents, business people, dignitaries from other areas and other countries, and for the hosting of royal visits.

You could decide to marry in the room set aside for royalty! Please ask for details.
