Other ways to pay Council Tax

Payment by standing order

The details you'll need to set up a standing order are:

Account: Middlesbrough Council Income Account

Sort code: 54-10-04

Account number: 94586489

You'll also need your Fund Reference. This is your 'Account No.' (found on the top right of your Council Tax bill) with 'CT' added at the front.

For example, if your Account No. is '00000000000X', your Fund Reference would be 'CT00000000000X'.

If you're finding it hard to understand your bill, have a look at the 'Council Tax bill explained' page.

Payment by Post Office or PayPoint

Payments are also accepted free of charge at any Post Office or establishment displaying the PayPoint logo.

You'll need to take your invoice with you, which shows the barcode on the front. After you've paid, you'll get a receipt which you should keep as proof of payment.

Find your nearest Post Office or find your nearest PayPoint.
