Community Hubs and Libraries

National lockdown: Stay at home. You must not leave your home unless necessary. Find out what you can and cannot do.

Top tasks for Community Hubs and Libraries

Our Libraries and Community Hubs are open on a part-time basis only. This means they'll only be open on certain days and at certain times.

Due to Tier 4 restrictions, Neptune and Rainbow Centre libraries will not be reopening after Christmas. They will reopen once Tier 4 restrictions are lifted.

We've had to make a lot of changes to keep you and our staff safe.

You can return books and pick up something new using a 'click and collect' service. Email or call your branch in advance to let them know the kind of books you like to read, and staff will choose a selection of titles which will then be available to collect from the library entrance. There's currently no browsing for books, no access to public computers, and no Wi-Fi, printing, or photocopying.

Don't worry about having to rush back to return your books, we're not charging fines at the moment.

Middlesbrough Libraries supporting literacy

Middlesbrough Libraries have brought together all their information about literacy into a single, accessible document. The document is primarily aimed at supporting professionals to better understand how they could work in partnership with the libraries service. It features all of the libraries literacy initiatives currently going on in Middlesbrough.
