Parking problems

You can report any vehicles violating the following parking policies:

  • Waiting restrictions (yellow lines) - If vehicles are parked on a footway where there are waiting restrictions (yellow lines) on the adjacent road, then a Penalty Charge Notice can be issued as the vehicle is in contravention of the traffic order. Waiting restrictions normally cover the whole width of the road and footways.
     
  • Nuisance parking - Any vehicle parked in contravention of a restriction, please contact the Police for obstruction parking issues.
     
  • Obstruction parking issues - Vehicles parked on footways can cause serious damage to the footway and surrounding grassed verges. Footways are constructed and provided for pedestrian use only. Vehicles on footways can be a hazard to pedestrians, causing an obstruction which may force them to step off the footway into the road, a hazard by restricting the width of the footway, making it difficult for a person with a pushchair, wheelchair or mobility scooter to pass safely. A hazard due to the damage they can cause to the footway. Vehicles causing an obstruction of a dropped kerb or road where there are no posted restrictions.
