Street works

Our Streetworks Team coordinates works carried out by utility companies on our roads, footpaths and verges, which may interfere with the free passage of vehicles and pedestrians. Street works aren't the same as roadworks.

Sometimes there may be problems with street works. These might include:

  • barriers blocking the footpath
  • the works are causing too much disruption
  • barriers left behind after work has been completed
  • the road not being restored to its original condition

We will inspect the works and work with the utility company to fix any problems.

If you have concerns or enquires about mains or service company works undertaken in the highway, including works that appear to be over-running, are causing disruption; or wish to report poor quality workmanship following mains or service works undertaken in the highway, please complete the online form.
