Council website privacy policy

This website is owned by Middlesbrough Council. Any information which you send to us through this website, either by creating or accessing your account, filling in an online form, or just browsing the site is managed as follows:

We keep your data only for as long is required. Data is required for the length of time to process your request and also as a record for yourself and Middlesbrough Council should you wish to follow up on your initial request. The length of retention of data will differ depending on which service you have accessed.

In certain circumstances it may be necessary for us to follow up your request for services or a purchase. We will contact you via your preferred method which can be specified within your MyMiddlesbrough account and can be amended at any time. Emails will be securely sent from Middlesbrough Council servers to the email address that you specify.

11. Subject access request

At Middlesbrough Council we are open and honest about how we store your personal data and what we use it for. At any time you can complete a subject access request which will inform you what information we hold about you and how that information is being used. To make a subject access request, please go to the data protection page and specify what your request relates to.

12. Right to be forgotten

As mentioned above we will only keep data relating to you for as long as is required. At any point you have the right to request to be forgotten, this means that if requested we will where possible delete our records of contact with yourself.
