Residents survey 2023

Central Library and Stewart Park in the sunshine

We're carrying out a residents survey to get your views on a range of issues. You can find out more about the survey on this page.

What we're doing

We want to know what you think about council services like bin collections, street cleaning, planning, education, social care, and road maintenance.

It's important for us to find out what residents think about our priorities and services when we're developing the Council Plan. This plan sets out what we're going to deliver over the next three years.

How the survey works

The survey is being carried out by a company called NEMS, based in Billingham. Residents are being chosen randomly and will come from across the town. Most residents will be contacted by phone, but there may be some face-to-face interviews.

If you're chosen, you'll get a phone call from the number 01642 680768.

Unfortunately, if you miss the call, you will not be able to take part. If you call back, you'll hear a pre-recorded message saying 'you were called by NEMS Market Research after being randomly selected to take part in a survey. We are sorry you were unable to take the call.'

Your privacy

The survey is anonymous, so you do not have to give your name or any other personal details. All we need to know is your postcode. We need this so we can see if there are particular issues in certain parts of the town.

We'll also ask you equality monitoring questions, which includes things like your gender and ethnicity. You can choose not to answer these questions.
