Recycling and rubbish

Top tasks for Recycling and rubbish

The council may take enforcement action if you don't put your waste out at the right time or in the right way.

If you don't know how, or when, you should put your bins out for collection, or if you'd like to buy a new wheeled bin, you can do this via the links below.

If someone offers to take away your waste, you must ensure they're a registered waste carrier and ask them to produce proof. If they can't provide proof then it's against the law to employ them. Waste given to illegal carriers often ends up fly tipped, and if the waste is traced back to you then you could be prosecuted, risking a maximum £5,000 fine.

You can find the details of registered waste carriers by visiting the Environment Agency website or calling 08708 506506.
